You must have heard those sayings from folks describing their experience with nonstick pans and I agree with them to some extent. Yet, the Scanpan Classic fry pan is the only exception among the pans that we’ve tried, and that’s saying something because we’ve tried quite a few.

No wonder it’s our best 14-inch nonstick frying pan.

This is the classic pan that you’ve been looking for! It’s durable and has a long life. It’s very easy to clean and cooks evenly. It’s perfect for any occasion.

The Scanpan Classic 14-1/4 Inch Fry Pan is made of sturdy, heavy-duty cast aluminum, which doesn’t get hotspots during use and distributes heat quickly and evenly, and retains that heat very well.

It also has a stratanium nonstick surface that ensures that food will stick like no other and makes cleanup a breeze. The nonstick surface is made out of a special alloy that’s metal-utensil safe, but I don’t recommend using them.

It’s the best egg pan ever. It’s so easy to flip omelets and eggs slide around and you will have to chase them:D

Tip: It’s best to avoid sprays with propellants – they make non-stick pans sticky after a while.

The Scanpan frying pan is oven-safe for up to 500°F and it can be used for gas and electric stovetops making it suitable for stovetop to oven technique. Yet it’s not compatible with induction cookers.

The rivetless locking system on the welded handles is also very solid, and it’ll never come loose or come apart. The extension handle is a great bonus for lifting the pan easily.

It has a large capacity, which means you can easily cook a big meal for your family or guests.

The surface is nonstick, so it makes cleanup easy too. It’s dishwasher safe too, so you can clean it up in no time, yet it’s not advised. Rinsing with hot water is more than enough.

The absence of internal rivets saves you from the effort of cleaning around rivets and makes it easier for stirring a sauce. Having a metal bottom, you can scrub it really well if something burns on it.

The pan is PFOA-free and PFOS-free which ensures that you get healthier cooking.

The fry pan comes with an Artisan Made in Denmark label, so you know it’s been made with quality materials and care. It also features a lifetime warranty, so you can be sure that it will last you a long time.

This pan is perfect for people who want a simple, reliable, high-end, and durable pan that will last them a lifetime. This workhorse is perfect for any occasion, and it’s totally worth the investment although it’s a bit pricey.

Promising Review:

These pans are a little shallow compared to the other scan pans I own but are a great value for the money. Have had scan pans for about 20 years and they are indestructible if cared for and used properly. Don’t use high heat on the stove, not needed and it is hard on any pan. Easily cleaned and seasoned. I tried the dishwasher some but that ruins the seasoning. Hand wash, they clean up easily, and use a shot of cooking spray on the pan and it will never stick. I know these pans aren’t cheap but they are so much more durable and cook better than any nonstick Teflon type pan. You just end up throwing those Teflon ones away the first time they get overheated because it ruins the nonstick finish! Spend a little more and get something that will last! Still using 20-year-old pans and they are still like new!

Note: This pan comes without a lid, yet you can buy it separately from their website.

 Pros

  • Sturdy with an extremely durable, hard-wearing nonstick surface
  • Top-notch performance as it distributes heat uniformly
  • Healthy cooking guaranteed
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Made in Denmark

Cons

  • A bit pricey
Tramontina Fry Pan Professional Fusion Aluminum 14-Inch, 80114/521DS

2. Tramontina Fry Pan Professional Fusion Aluminum 14-Inch, 80114/521DS

Key Features:

  • Nonstick coat
  • Aluminum construction
  • Oven-safe up to 400°F
  • Weight: 4.5 lbs.

Tramontina Fry Pan 80114/521DS is our runner-up when it comes to 14-inch nonstick skillets.

This fry pan has heavy-gauge aluminum construction, which provides superior heat conduction and excellent durability. It also has a nonstick coating, which ensures easy release and fast cleanup. It heats up very quickly and cooks meat and eggs evenly without creating hotspots.

To get the most out of your frying pan, make sure to use silicone utensils only to keep this nonstick coat intact.

It’s compatible with all cooktops like gas, electric, and ceramic cooktops, except induction, so you can easily switch between different types of cooking surfaces without any issues. The 14-inch frying pan is also oven safe up to 400 F. Yet, it’s advised to use it on low or low-medium heat.

Tip: If you need an induction-compatible fry pan, opt for Tramontina’s Gourmet Slate Gray, a 10-inch fry pan.

The stainless-steel handle is also very durable, and it’s easy to clean. The silicone sleeve on the handle is also a nice touch, as it helps prevent the handle from slipping out of your hands. This gives you the option to use the frying pan in your oven or the cooktop. It’s not too thick and adds a little bit of comfort when handling the fry pan.

Tramontina frying skillet is PFOA-free, which is important for those who are concerned about their health and the environment.

This thing is dishwasher-safe so you don’t have to worry about washing it by hand. This is especially important when you have a busy schedule or just don’t have the time to clean the frying pan after each use. If you are keen on handwashing, it doesn’t require any special cleaners, just a damp cloth or paper towel and rinse it. Don’t use soap.

Tramontina 14-inch frying pan also has no rivets inside to avoid the tedious cleaning task around rivets.

So the cookware is pretty easy to keep clean, and that’s always a plus for me.

This fry pan is great for both frying and sautéing (as you can flip it easily). I can get great results from both methods, but I prefer to use it for frying because it heats up faster. I can use it on the stovetop or in the oven, and it does a great job on both.

Note: This frying pan has two versions, one is made in Brazil and the other is made in the USA. So, make sure to check before buying. Don’t forget to use a little oil when you use it for the first time.

The thing I don’t like about this frying pan is that it’s not suitable for high heat cooking. Cast iron skillets do a better job in searing and browning. Many users also reported that the nonstick coating gets scratched after multiple uses.

Promising Review:

I am completely in love with this frying pan. It’s honestly the best one I have ever used and one of my favorite kitchen products (along with my air fryer, rice cooker, and slow cooker). I’m all about speed of prep time, ease of use, and simple cleanup, and this frying pan checks all the boxes. The fact it has no rivets inside the pan makes cleaning up soooo simple. I can spray it with pam, cook 3 eggs, shake them free of sticking (without any additional utensils), flip them in the air like the pros and clean the pan with a paper towel in under 5 minutes. BOOM – perfect over-easy eggs. No need to soak the pan to clean. It really does wipe clean with a paper towel. I use a paper plate to eat the eggs (I know, I know. I’m a terrible person) and the only thing I have to actually wash when I’m done, is a fork! The convenience and speed factor makes this an awesome product for a morning routine. If you’re thinking about buying this, just do it. You will not be disappointed. I would recommend getting SILICONE utensils to use with it, just to avoid any chance of scratching with plastic, wood, or metal utensils.

 Pros

  • Superb heat distribution especially with gas range
  • Flat bottom
  • Can be used on ceramic, electric, and gas cooktops
  • Super easy to clean up
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Lightweight
  • Made in the USA

Cons

  • Not perfect for searing and browning
  • Not induction-compatible
  • Delicate nonstick coating
  • Not hard anodized
Cuisinart 622-36H Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 14-Inch Open Skillet with Helper Handle, Black

3. Cuisinart 622-36H Chef’s Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 14-Inch Open Skillet with Helper Handle, Black

Key Features:

  • Hard anodized exterior
  • A helper handle
  • Oven-safe up to 500°F.
  • Capacity: 6 quarts

The Cuisinart 622-36H Chef’s 14-Inch frying pan is a great skillet for making pancakes, crepes, or stir fry with a very small amount of oil. It’s much more lightweight than the Tramontina Fry Pan 80114/521DS which is convenient in 14-inch pans.

We love the fact that it has a Quantanium nonstick interior and a hard-anodized exterior. The latter gives you a really durable and tough surface that will last for years. It also heats up fast, which is perfect if you need to make a quick meal. It also has remarkable heat conduction and distribution without hot spots so you won’t get burnt omelets.

This Quantanium nonstick interior enables you to cook without worrying about food sticking. This allows you to easily clean the pan even after making scrambled eggs or grilled cheese.

The nonstick interior is reinforced with titanium, which gives this pan a high-performance nonstick surface that lasts.

The tapered edges are great for not having to worry about spills while you’re pouring liquids in.

You can use this fry pan on halogen, glass, ceramic, gas, and electric ovens. Yet it’s not induction-usable.

While this pan is made from stainless steel, we don’t recommend using it in the oven as many users reported that the pan wraps with high heat.

The stainless steel riveted handle is solid and has been designed in such a way that it won’t get hot on your hands when you’re using it. It also comes with a helper handle that makes it easier to use and maneuver when it’s full, especially with 14-inch size frying pans.

The best part is that the Cuisinart frying pan is a cinch to clean. It’s also dishwasher-safe, yet it’s recommended to wash it by hand.

The biggest problem about this 14-inch nonstick skillet is that it doesn’t sit flat on the burner, especially on glass stovetops.

Promising Review:

After looking for a 14″ skillet for a long time, I finally found this one. It’s great, lightweight yet durable, and at a good price. It has a very large cooking space which many similar ones don’t. It comes without a lid but I was able to find one on Amazon as well.

Pros

  • Cooks evenly
  • Not too heavy for the 14-inch size
  • Easy to clean
  • Reinforced nonstick coating
  • Comes with a helper handle

Cons

  • It wraps with medium-high heat
  • Not suitable for flat stovetops
GOTHAM STEEL 14” Nonstick Fry Pan with Lid – Hammered Copper Collection, Premium Aluminum Cookware with Stainless Steel Handles Dishwasher & Oven Safe

4. GOTHAM STEEL 14” Nonstick Fry Pan with Lid–Hammered Copper Collection

Key Features:

  • Aluminum construction
  • Blend of a ceramic and diamond nonstick surface
  • Included lid
  • A helper handle

Searching for a 14-inch frying pan with a lid? This is the best 14-inch nonstick frying pan with a lid you can buy for the money if you don’t want to buy a separate lid.

However, I prefer opting for Scanpan Classic 14-1/4 Inch Fry Pan and buying its own lid as the market has limited options in this size and all the available options (including Gotham Steel) have some issues.

When it comes to making sure your kitchen’s cooking surface is healthy and non-toxic, Gotham Steel 14” Nonstick fry pan takes that to the next level. The coating on this frying pan is not only nonstick but also durable and completely PFOA and PFOS free. That’s why it’s great for cooking healthier meals and an eco-friendly experience

The pan is made from hammered copper, non-stick ceramic, and an aluminum composition.

The surface is coated three times and reinforced with titanium and diamonds, ensuring that the pan will last longer.

The aluminum provides even heat distribution so It heats up fast with no dead zones. Yet, many customers find that the fry pan has an issue with heat distribution as the center is always hotter than the edges.

It has a capacity of 10 pounds, which is enough for a family of 4 to enjoy some big meals. The large capacity of this skillet can feed even the most ravenous families.

This frying pan is ideal for both stovetop and oven use. It’s compatible with all cooktops including gas, electric, and halogen (except induction cooktops).

The handle is made of sturdy stainless steel that will hold up to daily use. The Y-shaped design ensures that the handle stays cool during cooking.

It comes with a lid, which you can keep in place by securing it with the magnets on the underside of the pan. It is ideal for quick cooking, preventing food from splattering, and keeping food warm on the stovetop.

The nonstick coating provides a smooth surface that’s perfect for cooking, and it makes cleaning up quick and easy. If you want to clean it, just use soap and water.

I like frying pans to have a flat bottom, but this pan has a slight dome. Also, the manufacturer claims that it’s great for searing steak which is not true. Don’t use this pan on high heat otherwise, it will wrap.

Promising Review:

This line of copper pans is waaaay better than the other Copper cookware…dare I say better than the cookware in Williams Sonoma. Yeah, I said it.

Pros

  • Great food release
  • Comes with lid

Cons

  • The bottom of the pan is not flat
  • Uneven heat distribution

Stainless steel

All-Clad 4114 Stainless Steel Tri-Ply Bonded Dishwasher Safe Fry Pan / Cookware, 14-Inch, Silver

1. All-Clad 4114 Stainless Steel Tri-Ply Bonded Dishwasher Safe Fry Pan / Cookware, 14-Inch

Key Features:

  • Stainless steel 3-ply bonded construction
  • Oven or broiler-safe up to 600°F

All-Clad has been making high-quality cookware since the 1950s, and this fry pan is no exception. Unsurprisingly, this is our pick for the best 14-inch stainless steel frying pan.

This All-Clad fry pan has been handcrafted in the USA, so you know it’s built to last.

It’s made from 3-ply bonded construction, which consists of durable stainless steel sandwiching an aluminum core for responsive heat distribution. This means that it will be much more durable than other stainless steel pans on the market and won’t warp or tarnish over time

This All-Clad cookware can be used on all kinds of surfaces, like gas, electric, or induction ovens, and it can even be used in the oven or broiler (up to 600°F)

It heats up evenly without temperature fluctuations and so you can sear, deglaze, sauté, and simmer for better cooking results. Yet, it takes a longer time to heat up as it has a thick bottom.

Tip: Use one drop of olive oil to preheat the All-Clad pan and no food will stick to the bottom. Remember also to use a lower heat setting as it retains heat well.

The stainless steel won’t react with the food making it optimal for healthy cooking

The handles are permanently secured with stainless-steel rivets, so they won’t come loose like other pans. They stay cool during cooking, yet uncomfortable to grip.

I’ve had some other pans that started to crack after just a couple of years, but this one still looks brand new. It also has a polished cooking surface with a starburst finish that makes it easy to clean and ensures less stickiness.

It’s dishwasher safe, so you can keep it clean and you don’t need to worry about scratches as the case with nonstick pans. However, if you want to make sure your All-Clad pan pieces are looking their best, don’t put them in the dishwasher. Instead, wash them with mild soap and a sponge, and they’ll stay in pristine condition for years.

Pro tip: Cooking with low-grade olive oil or Crisco will produce a tan residue, which will need to be scrubbed with the AllClad cleanser or Bar Keepers Friend to remove it.

It’s a bit expensive, yet it’s worth the money.

Promising Review:

Great pan! I bought this 14 inch pan so I could sear the meat quickly without crowding-perfect for seared scallops. Also made a great paella pan. I bought an inexpensive stainless steel lid from a restaurant supply site that works fine on this pan. I frequently cook with cast iron but the big advantage to the All-clad is more even heat distribution. I have a set of All-clad stainless that I have used for years so I know this pan is durable.

Butterpatty

Pros

  • Cooks evenly
  • Healthier option
  • Sturdy, and durable.
  • Compatible with all cooktops including induction stove

Cons

  • Narrow handles
  • Expensive
Cuisinart 722-36H Chef's Classic Stainless 14-Inch Open Skillet with Helper Handle

2. Cuisinart 722-36H Chef’s Classic Stainless 14-Inch Open Skillet with Helper Handle

Key Features:

  • 18/10 mirror-finish stainless steel.
  • Long stainless steel handle
  • A helper handle
  • Oven-safe up to 550 F.

If you’re on a budget and need a good 14-inch stainless steel frying pan, this is your best bet.

It’s made out of high-quality 18/10 mirror-finish stainless steel that doesn’t react with food or change flavor so you can be assured that your food will taste exactly as it should.

The Cuisinart skillet boasts an encapsulated aluminum base instead of the tri-ply construction making it much lighter than its contenders. Yet, this negatively affects the heat distribution of this frying pan. I scorched the pan the first time I used it. Shortly, its heat distribution is just ok, but cannot be compared with the All-Clad pan. This issue is more common with gas stovetops, so you might need a flame tamer to overcome this problem. This also means that it can not be used as a saucepan for reducing sauces.

You can also put the pan in the oven or under the broiler and it does a nice job as it’s oven safe to 550 F.

I’ve cooked pancakes, chicken, and veggies in it, and it has been pretty much perfect every time. It’s great for searing roasts and any recipe that implies going from stovetop to oven.

The Cuisinart Chef’s Classic pan features a long riveted handle that it’s easy to hold and maneuver. The handle stays cool on the stovetop too, so it won’t get hot even after cooking for hours. It also comes with a helper handle so it’s easier for lifting and pouring given the size of the skillet.

This fry pan cleans up nicely. It’s recommended to wash it after pre-soaking if you have tough messes.

This is a great pan for cooking up large batches of food and having enough leftovers to eat for several days. And with this price, it’s not expensive at all. If you have an empty cupboard, I highly recommend this one.

Promising Review:

This is a frying pan like nothing I have ever seen. This monster has steroids popping out all over it. It’s heavy enough to kill a grizzly bear, let alone make a 20-egg omelet for a truckload of hungry teamsters. I have mine hanging from a black iron pot hanger in my kitchen. It is more than a pan; this is a museum-quality artwork of impeccable taste, style, and grandeur.

Low heat and loving care are the secrets to using this. It’s not your father’s Teflon-coated, Walmart pan; this is the real deal: an Old School, Chicago steak house workhorse that will last a lifetime, and more; it will put to shame every other pot and pan you own, even the one aunt Charlotte gave you for your wedding. If you don’t buy this, you will regret it, maybe not tomorrow, or the next day, but forever and ever.

Legal Guardian

Pros

  • Suitable for stovetop to oven technique
  • Good for deep frying fish and chicken
  • Cleans beautifully
  • Ergonomic handle
  • Comes with a helper handle

Cons

  • Poor heat distribution with gas stovetops
  • Can not be used as a saucepan

Cast Iron

Lodge L14SK3 15-Inch Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Skillet

Lodge L14SK3 15-Inch Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Skillet

Key Features:

  • Cast iron construction
  • Oven-safe up to 500 Fahrenheit
  • Made in the USA

This skillet is our pick for all the cast iron lovers out there. It’s a no-brainer choice.

I’ve been impressed by the versatility of this skillet. You can use the L14SK3 on the stovetop, on the grill, in the oven, and even on the campfire for your outdoor cooking adventures.

This cast iron pan heats evenly and retains heat well. You can sear a steak in the pan, then flip it over and finish cooking on the grill.

It’s great for searing, sautéing, baking, broiling, and frying. The skillet is perfect for cooking bacon or grilled cheese sandwiches, and it makes grilling or barbecuing easier as well.

The surface of the cast iron skillet is seasoned with a special finish that prevents rust from forming and improves food release with use.

I like the fact that this skillet is an American-made product. This makes me feel much better.

The cleaning is easy once seasoned as the seasoning makes it nonstick. Lodge scraper and hot water are good options to make the cleaning process much easier.

Tip: Use olive oil or vegetable oil to season this cast iron skillet.

It’s a great all-purpose tool that works in a pinch and comes at a price that won’t break the bank.

Promising Review:

Throw your money at amazon and never look back. I cook a great steak. I love cooking steak. Enter this cast iron skillet (shout out to my momma for the recommendation). Holy crap this thing rocks. I cook everything in this baby. You ever reheat pizza on a cast iron skillet? You ever get cold in the winter so you just heat up the skillet and let it sit in bed with you? Well, I have, and I have the burn marks to prove it. I love this skillet, what a phenomenal purchase.

Kyle Vincent

 Pros

  • Pre-seasoned
  • Even, quick heat distribution
  • Grill-safe
  • Made in the USA

Cons

  • Has rough surface
  • The heaviest among our choices

Carbon steel

de Buyer’s products are always top-notch, so when I came across this pan, I was really excited to try it out.

I’ve used a lot of different pans over the years, and I always found that carbon steel pans were the best (if you know how to use them properly).

If you’re fond of cast iron pans and want to up your cooking game, this carbon steel frying pan is cast iron on steroids.

  1. It’s much smoother with less stickiness.
  2. So much lighter than cast iron. (about 40% lighter)
  3. Better heat conduction and less meal prep time.
  4. Slope sides rather than the straight edges of the cast iron give you more cooking surface for things like burgers and sauteing food.

It’s not really a good choice for beginners, but it’s great for people who want a professional-looking pan that can last a lifetime.

I used them for everything from searing steaks and fish to frying eggs. But after trying this pan, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has a higher heat conductivity than any other pan I’ve ever used. This meant that it would distribute heat evenly across the surface and prevent scorching yielding a perfect even caramelization.

This behemoth is very heavy-duty, and it feels like you’re cooking on cast iron. The pan comes with a nice heavyweight, so it won’t feel like a flimsy pan.

In addition, the de Buyer fry pan is safe for both induction cooktops and regular gas ranges.

Mineral B is also nonstick once seasoned. When seasoning this pan, make sure to apply a light coat of flaxseed oil before cooking, and you’ll be able to clean it easily afterward.  I also prefer to remove the beeswax coat before seasoning to get the best results.

Check this guide or watch the below video to know how to season your pan in the right way.

It comes with a huge ergonomic handle that doesn’t get hot. Yet, this handle is epoxy-coated which hinders you from using the pan in the oven. I simply removed the silicone button and put it in the oven to remove the coating and now it’s oven-safe.

The pan features a helper handle which I think is a necessity with 14-inch frying pans.

This frying pan is easy to clean, yet requires more maintenance compared to nonstick skillets. Use hot water to clean it then put it on the burner, and finally dry!

I don’t recommend using soap or metal scrubbers during cleaning as this might destroy your seasoning.

Don’t panic if the pan develops a patina, this is not rust and is totally fine.

If you’re looking for a high-performance, durable pan that will last forever, then I highly recommend getting this one.

 Promising Review:

This pan is IT! I’ve purchased 2 of the Matfer Bourgeat pans since they had the best rating from Cooks Illustrated, but They both warped and had design flaws that made it hard to season. DeBuyer is wayyyyy better! I love that it’s a natural beeswax coating instead of a toxic film. This made it easier to clean off and whatever remained wasn’t a concern for me. I used Flax Oil to season with. Admittedly, I’ve never been the best seasoner, but this is my best job so far and I give the credit to the pan. I also love the helper handle and the fact that the regular handle is precoated. There are no grooves inside the pan so food glides right off, even eggs.

How to choose the best 14-inch frying pan?

Choosing a 14-inch frying pan is easy – if you follow these simple steps. And if you have any doubts about which one to buy, this is a quick guide that will help you choose the best frying pan for your needs.

Material

The material that your new frying pan is made from will greatly impact how it performs in the kitchen, as well as what kind of environment it can be used in. Here’s a quick rundown of the most common materials used to make frying pans today.

Nonstick-coated

This is one of the most popular fry pans out there as they provide a smooth surface that prevents food from sticking to your pan and heats up quickly. These pans are also super easy to clean as all you have to do is wipe them with a paper towel.

In addition, they also need less oil or fat for cooking.

It’s your best bet if you cook eggs, omelets, or potatoes frequently and need a hassle-free solution.

Yet, they have many drawbacks:

  1. They must be used with only low to medium temperatures. So, they aren’t suitable for searing or oven use.
  2. Nonstick cookware requires a lot of babying and care to keep the pans brand new. You can’t use a metal spatula with them or wash them in the dishwasher even if some manufacturers claim that their pans are dishwasher-safe and the list goes on. Use this source to read about the precautions you should follow to keep your nonstick pans in good condition.
  3. Most nonstick pans have a short lifespan as the coat flakes off or at least gets many scratches.

Avoid nonstick coated frying pans that contain PTFE (Teflon) and PFOA as they cause some serious health problems like cancer.

Aluminum

If you choose aluminum pans, make sure that they are made of hard-anodized aluminum. This type of aluminum is better than steel in thermal properties and is nonstick without being coated.

Stainless Steel

If you’re looking for a more durable and long-lasting frying pan, then Stainless steel is a great option. It’s perfect for searing meat or making a crispy skin for chicken and also can be used in the oven. They’re also more resistant to corrosion and are non-reactive.

Although it’s harder to clean than non-stick pans, Stainless steel pans go in the dishwasher safely, which is a big plus.

In high heat temperatures, stainless may show discoloration.

Opt for frying pans that boast a tri-ply construction as these offer better durability and heat conduction. However, this type is more expensive.

Cast Iron

Cast iron is the original choice for those who want a frying pan that will last a lifetime. This type is extremely heavy and requires proper maintenance, but it’s the only material that can withstand high temperatures and handle the intense heat without burning.

Cast iron skillets have unsurpassed versatility. You can use them for searing, braising, sauteing, and stovetop to oven recipes.

If you’re looking to buy one of these, you’ll need to do some research before buying and know how to season it.

You should bear in mind that 14-inch cast-iron skillets are much heavier than other types.

Carbon steel

Carbon steel and cast iron share many features. Both of them require seasoning, become nonstick over use, durable, and handle the high temperature.

Yet, I prefer the carbon steel for the 14-inch frying pans as it’s much more lightweight which is a critical point given the size.

Choose a pre-seasoned carbon steel pan, as the case with de Buyer Mineral B Frying Pan, to avoid rust issues.

Ceramic

Ceramic frying pans are made of silica-based gel and feature a nonstick surface without having a coat. But, ceramic cookware is similar to nonstick pans in some attributes. For example, they require low heat handling. This means that ceramic pans are not good for searing. Also, they need special care to avoid scratching.

These pans are a great choice for people who want the benefits of nonstick-coated pans without health risks.

Handle

The handle should be ergonomic, which means that it should allow you to hold the pan in your hand without pain. It should also be easy to grip and maintain control of the pan while using it. A comfortable handle will also make it easier to clean your pan after every us

A helper handle is a must with the 14-inch pans as it makes lifting and maneuvering the pan when it’s full of food way easier.

Price

When you’re thinking about what type of frying pan to buy, it’s important to look at how much it will cost. Obviously, the most expensive models aren’t necessarily the best, but they are great for the serious home cook who wants the best of the best. On the other hand, a budget-friendly model may be the best fit if you’re looking to get into home cooking, but don’t want to make a big investment.

Warranty

Many manufacturers offer warranties on their products. Some will cover the entire pan, while others will only cover the material.

Make sure that you understand what the warranty covers before you make a purchase. If you’re in doubt about what’s covered, call the manufacturer directly to find out.

Do you need a 14-inch frying pan?

It’s recommended to use a 14″ frying pan to cook a large quantity of food at one time. If you have a large family or need to cook for additional guests, it’s your ticket.

A large pan will help you save time, and it will be able to cook more food in less time compared to smaller pans. It’s also useful for cooking multiple dishes at once, which saves a lot of time in the kitchen.

If you cook for more than 4, the 14″ will be your go-to cookware. It’s simpler to move around with a spatula, and there’s more area for flipping hamburgers and stirring vegetables. It can be very useful to be able to spread the food out quite far apart.

In addition, using a large skillet will make reducing sauces easier, since there is more surface area to work with.

This monster is capable of frying 6 eggs at once or searing 4 chicken breasts until they’re evenly browned.

Yet, before making the buying decision, you should put these points into consideration:

  • Make sure you have enough room for storage as this thing is a bit bulky and it’s not suitable to hang given the weight.
  • A dishwasher might not be an option even if the pan carries a dishwasher-safe sticker. This is because a lot of 14″ fry pans won’t fit your dishwasher’s top rack.
  • Check if your burner size makes a good fit with the 14″ version or not. Measure the dimensions of your stovetop and pan before buying.
  • Be ready for handling the weight of 14″  as many of these pans might be heavy and tougher to maneuver compared to the standard-sized pans.

Note: If you frequently braise or make pan sauces, you may not require additional skillets because saute pans can also be used as frying pans. The steeper sides of saute pans give them an increased surface area for cooking.

Is a 14-inch frying pan too big?

The size of the 14-inch frying pan is not suitable for people who have small kitchens or lack storage capacity. It might be overkill if you cook for one person or two. Yet, it’s the perfect size for big families to make large batches of meat and vegetables. Also, the size of the pan fits all standard ovens.

How much does a 14-inch skillet hold?

A 14-inch frying pan is big in a good way. It has an average of 6 quarts of capacity. This is the one to use if you’re making a couple of tomahawk chops or steaks. It takes two hands to saute-toss in this thing, but you could do it. It’s large enough to cook some paella in. It’s big enough to be used as a griddle.
